Moonbuck This young hunter and big buck story comes to us from Rosetown, Saskatchewan, province of the world record typical whitetail.

Chase Moon took the big bodied monster after making a 318 yard shot. Out of respect for his father, who had been having a tough season, Chase even let dad take the first crack at the 5×4 when it stepped into site, but his dad missed. As the deer started to run, Chase cut loose with a round.

The buck only ran about 30 yards before stopping and staggering, when Chase hit it with a follow up shot. The buck grossed 151 ¼ inches and netted 134. Congratulations Chase on a great buck and way to show the respect and restraint to give your dad the first shot. I admire that a lot. —Doug Howlett
