A Little Respect Goes a Long Way

Moonbuck This young hunter and big buck story comes to us from Rosetown, Saskatchewan, province of the world record typical whitetail.

Chase Moon took the big bodied monster after making a 318 yard shot. Out of respect for his father, who had been having a tough season, Chase even let dad take the first crack at the 5x4 when it stepped into site, but his dad missed. As the deer started to run, Chase cut loose with a round.

The buck only ran about 30 yards before stopping and staggering, when Chase hit it with a follow up shot. The buck grossed 151 ¼ inches and netted 134. Congratulations Chase on a great buck and way to show the respect and restraint to give your dad the first shot. I admire that a lot. —Doug Howlett
