Sometimes two hunters are better than one. Working as a team, my good friends Tracy and Dave were able to close the mousetrap on a truly mature buck. Evander showed up on their 1,200 acre farm as a four year old. But after missing a shotgun shot that first year, it wasn’t until three years later that Evander slipped up again. The wind, stand location, and the ability to move in and attack when the conditions were right made the hunt possible on this willy old buck – truly a king of the deer woods. Tracy’s story is a great example of perseverance and, above all, readiness.
