There are a lot of ways to lose a big fish, but having it get devoured by sharks right before your eyes might be the worst.
And that's exactly what happened to the angler in this video while he was fishing for marlin off Cairns, Australia.
The crew estimated the marlin was about 30 feet away from the boat when at least three tiger sharks closed in for an easy meal. The boat captain spotted blood in the water and told the angler to reel in because the sharks got to his fish.
After a moment of disbelief, the mate and the angler attempted to retrieve the fish. But after some violent splashes, the mate only managed to pull up the marlin's head.
The crew estimated the marlin to be around 600 pounds. The question is, would you have reached down to grab that marlin's bill like the mate did in the end of the video?
