The Sauer 404 Takedown was one of the coolest hunting rifles we found at the SHOT Show last month. The rifle can be configured for multiple stock profiles and barrels ranging from a .243 to a .375.
To swap in a different caliber, you pull a simple wrench out of the forend to take the gun apart. As you’ll see in the video, it’s easy to change the barrel, bolt face, and magazine. You can also adjust the trigger weight and reach with this tool. The rifle we looked at had a carbon-fiber stock, but they also come in wood versions.
