While hunting black bears with W&L Guide Services outside of High Level, Alberta, a couple of weeks ago, I employed a variety of high-quality and innovative new gear in an effort to put a tag on my first bruin.
I used the new Mossberg Flex shotgun platform, which I modified with an adjustable buttstock and a tactical forend, to which I mounted a Contour+ P.O.V. video camera. I topped the shotgun with a Swarovski Z6i 1.7-10×42 scope and wore the Swarovski EL 8×32 binocular around my neck. Lastly, I loaded the gun with a new prototype slug from Hornady that should be available later this fall.
Check out the video to learn more about this gear and why it was well suited to the hunting conditions I experienced in northern Alberta.
