An unidentified hunter from Brigham City, Utah was shot in the butt by his faithful dog this past weekend in what police have labeled an accident.
Box Elder County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Kevin Potter explained that the 46-year-old man was in the water moving duck decoys when his excited dog stepped on the trigger of his 12-gauge shotgun. The resulting discharge hit the hunter in his buttocks.
It has yet to, and I doubt it will be, reported what type of load the hunter was shot with but reports indicate that the man will recover. Physically that is. I doubt he'll fully regain his pride.
On a serious note, dog/gun accidents like this seem to happen every year. So learn your lesson from this guy and make sure to put your gun somewhere your dog can't knock it over.
On a less serious note … dare I say this man will undoubtedly be the butt of jokes for the rest of his life?
