An unidentified angler fishing with notorious shark guide Capt. Mark “the Shark” Quartiano has landed a massive bull shark off the coast of Florida.
Capt. Quartiano stated Friday via Instagram that his client caught the 10-foot, 624-pound shark, “…in 10 feet of water off the Miami Beach hotels!!!” The captain added that the shark’s stomach contained, “1/2 a tarpon, 3 jack crevalles, 1 hawksbill turtle, and 1 permit.”
The shark’s gigantic size put it close to the all-tackle world record of 697 pounds 12 ounces. That monster was taken off the coast of Kenya back in March 2001.
