Following a wild and woolly afternoon of weather yesterday, this morning dawned, clear a bit chilly but calm here in Ohio. I'm midway through my first-ever crossbow hunt and am happy to have some better weather.
We were back to treestand No. 1 on top of an oak ridge before first light and hoping for the best. Although I'm starting to feel a bit snakebitten, I finally saw my first 3 deer of the hunt--a doe and two skippers.
Things just have to get better. It's warming up this afternoon with improving/colder conditions on the way. I'll be on stand all day ready to take advantage of any opportunity I get.
