Some refer to sporting clays as “golfing with a shotgun.” Some just call it biding time. Do you guys shoot sporting clays in the summer dog days between the hunting seasons?
Some of the world’s best gunners will compete at the National Wild Turkey Federation’s 17th annual Turkey Shoot. Where? The Meadows National Gun Club in Forsyth, Georgia, Aug. 20 through Aug. 22. Why? Proceeds from this event benefit the NWTF’s Wheelin’ Sportsmen outreach program, which serves outdoor enthusiasts with disabilities.
According to the NWTF who stages the annual family-friendly occasion, hundreds of shooters from across North America are pre-registered for the event, which features three days of sporting clays action.
Turkey Shoot participants will compete for $100,000 in cash and prizes. Awards for top performers in each division include cash and more than 80 guns. Need a new set of hunting wheels? The NWTF will also announce the raffle winner for a 2010 Chevrolet truck. For tickets, contact Tammy Condrey at (800) THE-NWTF or firstname.lastname@example.org
