A dozen guys had 16 Oklahoma gobblers in hand by the time we closed down camp at Croton Creek Ranch.
Several had trophy spurs to rival the best any of us ever kill.
Most of us let jakes walk with the promise of sharp-spurred longbeards nearby, though one shortbeard double was taken by a camp attendee, and one of those young gobblers had a double beard. It was that kind of hunt!
