Analyzing TEOTWAWKI

I'll admit, with the world in conflict a little more each day, it looks more and more probable that some really bad events will happen in our lifetimes.

Change is the only constant in the world, right? For those of you who are not familiar with the strange word written above, TEOTWAWKI is an acronym for The End Of The World As We Know It. There are many other names for this concept, which has been around for as long as human existence. The Bible's Armageddon from the book of Revelation is well known in America, and abroad. The classic Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are a grim image burned in many people's minds from Biblical prophecy. Other End scenarios are just as unusual as the people who told them.

Ragnarok is the end of time for the Vikings. This gloomy conclusion to the world involves endless winter, giant supernatural wolves and a host of other problems. If you dig around a little, you'll find that most cultures have their own unique version of the End.

Is that the point of our website here at OL Survival? Well, in one word - no.

There are many sites out there claiming to get you ready for the big one. With unstable times and global turmoil, this should be no surprise. There is a lot of gloom and doom out there, but not at OL Survival. Our goal is to educate you for survival, without scaring you to death in the process. Yes, there are many different applications for survival skills.

You certainly could use survival skills during and after mayhem. But the point of survival is usually a continuation, not a total reset starting over from scratch. If you think the End of the World would be manageable because you know some survival stuff, think again. The End of the world would be Hell on Earth. Don't wish for that, and don't expect to find that sort of rehtoric here.

Be prepared, be safe.
