The American Film Institute has released a list titled, “100 Years, 100 Heroes & Villains.” Criteria for ranking the villains specified that a character could be “horribly evil or grandiosely funny, but…ultimately tragic.” Some of the worst villains include Darth Vader and Hannibal Lecter, right, who ranks number one. At number 20 was the “Man” from Bambi. The Man is the hunter who shoots Bambi’s mother–you gotta fill those doe tags–and encroaches on deer habitat. He was considered a worse character than the Terminator, a robot bent on annihilating the human race. This is bad news for hunters who have worked on balancing healthy deer herds with the needs of humans. Hunters should be heroes, and they need a better film to sway the judges. Maybe a Ted Nugent hunting video? –Will Snyder
