I Love Turkey Fights

Turkeys fight to maintain pecking order. Dominant spring gobblers want to collect as many hens as they can gather around them.

They fight for the right. They’ll breed with as many as possible.

As with many matters of a breed-driven nature, one isn’t sure if hens choose gobblers or gobblers chase hens. Probably a little of both.

Eggs hatch and flocks come forth in spring and summer. But in the end it always comes back to the sparring.

Why? There’s always another sub-dominant gobbler ready to take the boss gobbler’s place.

I love a good turkey fight. How about you?
