
Outdoor Life is looking to showcase some of the best outdoor shots from our readers. If your image makes the cut, we’ll publish it in the magazine.
A special panel of editors and photographers will select the winning photographs based on photo quality, creativity, content and composition. One winner in each of six categories will receive a supply of film and an Outdoor Life baseball cap. One lucky grand-prize winner will receive $500. Categories are:

THE OUTDOOR LIFE “TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT” PHOTO CONTEST

The Outdoor Life “TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT” Photo Contest is open to amateur photographers who are legal residents of the 50 United States, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Canada (excluding Quebec). Employees and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses), including household members of Outdoor Life, Time Inc., and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to enter or win. Professional photographers are also ineligible to win. By participating in the photo contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Outdoor Life judges, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. All entries become the property of Outdoor Life and may be used in the future at its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of the winners. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. The contest ends on March 15, 2005, 11:59 p.m. E.T.
1. How to Enter: All photos must be entered by postal mail. Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form or a photocopy thereof, or the following information. If there are any items missing, your photo will not be entered:
First name, last name.
Telephone number (this is necessary to notify winners).
Address.
City, state, zip code.
An attached photo for entry.
Category in which photo is submitted (Hero Shot, Fishing; Hero Shot, Hunting; Camp Life; Live Game; Nature/Scenic; Humor)BR>
Affirmation that you are the owner of all rights, including copyright, of the attached photo.
Signature on the entry form.
Securely attach each photograph to the entry form. Do not staple or glue. Do not fold photographs. Mail your photograph or photographs to the following address:

All entries must be postmarked by March 10, 2005, and received by March 15, 2005. Winners will be announced in the June/July issue of Outdoor Life.
Photos may be entered as prints, slides, or digital images. Photo printing stations such as the KODAK Picture Maker kiosk produce prints using a method that is not suitable for reproduction in the magazine. Digital photos should be submitted with a color printout and an accompanying Mac-compatible CD-ROM containing the original JPG or TIFF file. This file must be at least 266 dpi.
Photos will not be returned. All photos are sent with the understanding that they may be published in Outdoor Life magazine, on www.outdoorlife.com and its associated web sites and properties or partner web sites and promotional materials and therefore the sender grants the right for such use.
All entries become the property of the Sponsor. Sponsor will not acknowledge receipt of entries. Entries will not be returned. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of delivery. Lost, late, illegible, and postage due entries are not eligible.
[pagebreak] 2. Judging: Photos will be judged by Outdoor Life. Photos will be judged in each category: Hero Shots, Fishing; Hero Shots, Hunting; Camp Life; Live Game; Nature/Scenic; and Humor. Photos not submitted with a category will not be eligible. Judging in each category will be based on the following criteria, each of which will constitute one third of the overall score: photo quality, creativity, and content.
**3. Prizes: **One (1) Grand Prize Winner (chosen from among the six Category Winners) will receive a check for $500.00. Six (6) Category Winners will receive one (1) Outdoor Life baseball cap and ten (10) rolls of professional print film. Approximate Retail Value: $100.00 No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes (or prize components), except that Sponsor may substitute a prize (or prize component) of equal or greater value for any reason. Any depictions of prizes are for illustrative purposes only. Any trademarks used in this contest are the property of the respective trademark owners and are used herein for identification purposes only. Prizes will be awarded in the name of the winner. Winners are responsible for paying any applicable federal, state, and local taxes, and all other expenses associated with prize not explicitly stated herein as being awarded. By accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges and agrees that the photo submitted shall be the sole and exclusive property of Outdoor Life, its successors, assigns, and licensees shall be entitled to all rights of ownership, title, interest, and all other intellectual property rights, including 100 percent of the copyrights, without further compensation.
4. Winners: The winner will be notified by phone, postal mail, or e-mail on or about April 15, 2005. Winners will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Transfer of Rights/Promotional Liability Release, which must be signed and received within 7 days of date printed on notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. By entering, entrant conveys and assigns to Outdoor Life all rights of ownership, title, interest and all other intellectual property rights, including without limit, copyright in and to the winning photograph. Non-compliance with Official Rules will result in disqualification. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
