Roundup at Seneca Lake
New York Pick what you want to focus on-lake trout, landlocked salmon, smallmouth bass or some of the biggest yellow perch in the state and head for Seneca Lake. In Geneva to the north and Watkins Glen to the south, you can find plenty of services including public boat ramps and over a dozen private launches. Target trout and salmon with deep-water techniques at HiBanks and off Sampson State Park. Smallmouth hot spots include HiBanks, Reeds Point and Kashong Point. Cast hellgrammites and minnows to deep drop-offs and weed lines. Or try tube jigs or spinnerbaits. Off the pier in Watkins Glen you can take yellow perch and rock bass with small bucktail jigs.
