Learn to Video Your Own Hunts at the Heartland Bowhunter Film School

These days outdoor television seems to run the gamut from poorly shot, sponsor saturated, high-five heavy product videos to truly thoughtfully and engaging storytelling.

The guys at Heartland Bowhunter certainly fall in the latter group. To my mind it’s the best hunting show on TV. So if they’re putting on a film school, I’ll be there to learn. And if you’re interested in filming your own hunts, you should be there, too.

July 14th and 15th in Lee’s Summit, MO the HB team is holding their annual Film School. They cover everything from proper equipment, to shot composition, storytelling and DSLR basics. This year they’ve added a section on timelapse photography and Mammoth Media will be teaching a post-production unit on editing.

If you’re not familiar with HB, checkout the first episode of Season 5, which premiered last week on The Sportsman Channel. The videography is among the best in the outdoor business.
