Prophet Muskwa's main lodge is miles from the Alaska Highway, with little more than expansive tracts of muskeg in between. The only viable way to get to the lodge is via bush plane. Christine came to Vancouver from her native Austria in 1991 to work as a nanny, but soon tired of that life and sought out something a bit more adventurous. She's been wrangling or guiding since 1996 and has been with Prophet Muskwa since 2000. In fact, she did a lot of the carpentry work on the main lodge when it was being built. Among his duties was to wake up as early as 2:00 in the morning, or whenever the first horses returned to camp from the nearby pasture where they ate and slept each night, and round up the other horses who weren't as eager to return. Michael MohrThe main cabin at Grizzly Lake camp was a cozy abode with a woodstove and a bed where Bartosch slept. All the meals were eaten here, too. The lake provided water for both drinking and cleaning. Lanterns provided light. In addition to the main cabin, there was another cabin where Stone and Sawchuck slept and one that housed Donlon and the OL editors.
