Benelli USA Cordoba 20-Gauge
The famed Cordoba shotgun from Benelli has been expanded into the 20-gauge arena, with this 28-inch all-black shotgun. The name was inspired by the high volume dove shooting found around Cordoba, Argentina. Benelli engineers designed the Cordoba as a lightning fast hunting gun with all the advanced features of a serious sporting clays shotgun. Incorporated into the Cordoba is a 10mm sporting rib favored by competition shooters and porting to keep barrel climb to a minimum. The ComforTech stock cushions the blow when ammo isn't measured in boxes but by cases in an afternoon. The ComforTech system also helps reduce barrel climb and puts the shooter back on target 69 percent faster. A cryogenically treated barrel and extended Choke tubes put more pellets on target and the whole package is finished in matte black. MSRP is $1,735. Outdoor Life Online Editor

Beretta AL391 Urika 2 X-Tra Grain
The reliable and recoil-reducing qualities of Beretta's 391 shotgun series are well know, and well deserved. Beretta is introducing an enhanced version of the award-winning AL391 Urika shotgun that has sold over 1.5 million units worldwide since its introduction. The new Urika 2 has several new and notable features which will make it one of the fastest, easiest, and smoothest handling semi-automatics on the market today. The Beretta gas system is twice as fast as any other operating system. The gas system has been improved by the addition of a spinning and self-cleaning action. As gas pressure is fed into the gas cylinder, a series of expandable fingers on the piston expand outwardly to clean the gas cylinder as the action cycles. Additionally, the gas piston is imparted with a spinning motion and "scraper teeth" to ensure carbon deposits are thoroughly dislodged and removed from the gas system. This improved cleaning action greatly contributes to enhanced reliability and longer functioning shooting periods between cleaning. It sells for $1,250. Outdoor Life Online Editor

One advantage of SHOT Show is writers have the chance to test many of the new products to give accurate reviews. Many guns are put side-by-side for comparison (and a little competition). This is a great chance to gauge trends in the industry and see which direction design is moving.
