Bull Snake Bandit
Photographer Adam Johnson caught this daring bull snake robbing swallows beneath a bridge.
I pulled over at the Loma bridge fishing access site just outside of the UMBNM north of Fort Benton MT on Sunday afternoon around 4:30PM to photograph the cliff swallows tending thier nests.

caught a 4.5 bull snake at work the other day did not ever think that one could play cliff hanger. That was some really cool photography
Coyote, I don't know what your problem is, but that is the most stupid comment I have ever seen posted on here.
As for the snake, this is a perfect example of how the strongest of any species combine skills and intelligence to not only survive, but become stronger. That is a huge bull snake, and he/she will be dominant in that area as long as it is there.
Nice job, Bearclaw, at making the hunting community look even more barbaric than it already does.
GOD FORBID a snake gets a meal every now and then.
I would use a shotgun instead of a camera to shoot it with.
An amazing story of 'survival' in nature to have caught on camera. Just to have been there at the right time with the right equipment - great pics Adam, thanks for sharing OL.
Fascinating behavior one would have thought swallow nests under a bridge would be safe. Good photography.

charlie
